Our 15 minutes of fame ;)

The other day me and Steinar (the bf) felt the need for a huge night out in the city.
We ended up in Amplifier (a club in Perth) and got fairly smashed and danced the night away.
Somewhere along the line a photographer, or should I say paparazzi from the Xpress music magazine came and took a photo of us as we were dancing. And this photo was the result.

In the next week at my film school I was just minding my own business, waiting for my class to start when I spotted the new Xpress music magazine fresh from the printers. And there we were, the first photo in the scenery section! I had completely forgotten.
But I thought to myself: "Look at us, The ambassadors for the good times in Amplifier...hahaha!"

I have to admit that this photo rocks;)

A Stylish Drifter

I was browsing my usual daily sites and I came across these amazing photos.
I am in love with this style!!!
The outfit works so well together. I adore the braids in her hair and the silver purse to add a touch of glamour...just beautiful.
And the model is gorgeous of course.

I feel like updating my wardrobe so I can experiment more with this style.
I have been longing for a fur/faux fur jacket or west and now I have to look even harder.
Fashion Toast is such an fashion inspiration for me and I recommend everyone to take a look.

Thats all from me,

O MY GOD-FATHER

I decided it was time for me to have a Godfather marathon for the third time.
And I have a lot to say...

Its one of those films that you look at and you wonder how do they pull this off?!?
It is so well written, so well directed and so well acted. Every single frame of that movie is perfect. It's such a joy to behold!
Godfather is one of the reasons i want to make movies!
When I think about the films I envision the look and the music of the film.
The look is very real, defiantly not over the top.
I love that it doesn't have fast editing like in all the movies today that make you nearly epileptic and doesn't let you savor the scenes situation.

You get completely sucked into their world. You almost feel like your apart of the family!
But you are with Micheal Corleone (Al Pacino) the whole time, all the way! I find myself not caring as much for other characters even though Michael is in the wrong most of the time.
The characters are supposed to be doing bad things but you still like them...now that's successful film making!!!
Its just everything storytelling should be and with that combination you get magic.

My favorite scenes are from the Godfather II movie when story goes back into time to the beginning of the Corleone family, how it all started with Vito Corleone (Marlon Brando, older version and with Robert De Niro, younger version). I mean when Vito finally gets revenge, its just unforgettable.
Some of the best scenes in movie history and these are movie moments that stick with me all my life!
What can I say...Everything works!

There have always been arguments on which movies are the best but I can honestly say that my favorite film of the three will have to be a battle between Godfather I and Godfather II.
In my opinion Godfather II feels more psychological than Godfather I but they are both different in their own ways but just as good. Everything really clicks together in Godfather II though.
The third Godfather a lot of people didn't like it but I thought it was just misunderstood.

Fun facts...
There is actually a book called "How to really watch the godfather" to tell you obviously how to watch it and can answer some questions for you that you might not understand.
I would like to get my hands on it because it can be such a complex story even though I've watched it three times I still get confused. If you really want to understand and know the story by heart then lets face it you will have to watch all 3 movies straight at least 5 times and ofcourse purchase the book!

I'm going to leave you now with some of the most memorable quotes...

Don Corleone: I'm gonna make him an offer he can't refuse.
Michael Corleone: Never hate your enemies. It affects your judgment.
Don Corleone: [seeing Sonny in the mortuary] Look how they massacred my boy.
Hyman Roth: This is the business we chose.
Don Corleone: Do you spend time with your family? Good. Because a man that doesn't spend time with his family can never be a real man.
Michael Corleone: I don't feel I have to wipe everybody out, Tom. Just my enemies.

Word of the day...

I was looking into increasing my intellectual vocabulary and I came across this really cool word that I gladly stamped into my long term memory. And I strongly recommend everyone to do the same thing.

Word of the day is:

Zeitgeist [n. TSYTE-gaist or ZYTE-gaist] The meaning of this word never changes, but what it describes is subject to society's whims. Zeitgeist is the popular outlook -intellectually, morally, and culturally - in a particular period or generation. Scholars maintain that each era has a unique spirit distinguishing it from other periods. The pervasive cultural climate is described as the Zeitgeist. It is most often reflected in the music, movies, literature, and philosophy of the time. Example: "The film's workaholic Wall Street broker went over well with audiences because he tapped into the Zeitgeist of the 1980s."
First introduced in the English language in the late 19th century, Zeitgeist is a loaner from German. Literally translated Zeitgeist means "spirit of the times" since zeit is time and geist is spirit. It is often capitalized.

Use it Whenever you can, in order to show you are 'with it'.

I also want to add that there are these awesome movies that are free to download on the Internet called Zeitgeist. It will seriously open your eyes and make you think. I have to admit, they are not you most conventional movies but I found them very interesting and a joy to watch.
Perfect for those who love conspiracy theories.

That's all from me!

The music video shoot!

I thought I'd share this with you,

Other other day I was asked to shoot 'behind the scenes' on a friends music video shoot.
I of course gladly accepted the offer since I have never had the experience and it would also be an other thing to add to my show reel.
Hmm...a rap video, should be interesting:)

I had to wake up very early the get the right sunlight and tide.
I have to admit that it was so much fun! I am seriously thinking about shooting music videos professionally!
Dialekt was a complete pro. He had to endure uncomfortable contact lenses, heavy chains, ice cold water and the DRY ICE!!!
The props were certanly exiting. they consisted of big heavy chains, heaps of dry ice and a huge hunting knife!

Also a big highlight was that dolphins decided to join in on the fun while Dialekt was in the water. There was a big scare for a moment as we thought they were SHARKS! But quickly realised they were harmless dolphins:)

All in all the whole shoot went really well and without any dramas and I'm very happy with the footage that I've got.

That's all from me.
